Dickhead in sales ops

This guy at the workplace just recently promoted himself to sales ops manager and he keeps trying to flex on us while also complaininng about all the work he has to do. He literally gets off on us by being miserable about his fake ass responsibilities.

How do I get this guy to shut up without triggering a response from HR? He has a pony tail.

Well, it sounds like some scissors may do the trick… how did he promote himself?

He went up to the Director of Sales Ops and basically demanded it. Scissors though - what a great idea, thanks BigMeech!!

If he gets off on it the best thing you can do is be positive. Kill em with kindness and they'll go crazy if they feed off negativity

Is it an official promotion? If not then don't acknowledge it.

It is unfortunately. But I might just not acknowledge it anyway

Ignore and focus on your personal KPIs, he will deal with himself when stuff starts to pile up.

How does one promote themselves to sales ops manager? If he can promote himself to a management position, it sounds like turnabout is fair play. Promote yourself to SUPREME LEADER and sh*tcan him.

This dude sounds like a greaseball. Try and get a used car dealership to hire him. He’ll fit right in.

With enough rope he will hang himself.  Ignore is hard but sounds like the best way forward.  If that fails maybe some Veet disguised as hair mouse or something.

Sounds like every question, issue, or menial task you have needs to be raised with him moving forward.

I never even thought about promoting myself lol. Maybe I’ll try it next month and see what happens

Not sure why a Director would just accept someone coming in and demanding a promotion. That being said, I'd just have a 100% HR compliant conversation with the guy. Maybe even get your HR person to be there, or his boss and explain that he is making you uncomfortable for XYZ. You can basically turn this around on him.

Stir your coffee with a pocket knife (preferably at least a 6inch blade, size DOES matter) and a thousand yard stare.  Don't dry it after....just lick the blade and wipe it off on your leg after.  Glare through his soul every time he speaks.  That combo should definitely work.

He’s still just a very tall midget. Remember that. His function is to serve you. He is a servant. Nothing more. Nothing less.

if it was 2015... I'd say endorse him for random shit skills on LinkedIn like (like flexing), remove it, and deny you did it if he asks why he sees a notification but nothing shows up.  a bit of mental warfare.

if it was now.. ignore the dude, he'll get his.. or do the above if its still even possible on LI

Knowing they are in the field pretty much the whole day, I'd say a call and VM first then text away.
