The short name of SAP Ariba Discovery is Ariba

iValua, Zycus, Coupa are the main ones. Smaller competitors exist too. Ariba Discovery is basically a middleman between suppliers and buyers. Quite a rich list of suppliers they have though.

Yes it has a lot of suppliers and it is reliable source for me.
Is those platforms for free same as Ariba?

As a supplier, when Iโ€™m asked to log in, I try the hardest I can to pawn the work off on someone else. Itโ€™s a pain in the ass.

It is normal registration. I am not sure where you face the difficulties?

I have no interest in logging into another system. Already have too many log ins. No thanks.

Ariba, the sourcing platform? As a vendor, I've used it, but as infrequently as possible.

As a supplier who responds to RFPs, we have to engage with multiple platforms in order to respond. Ariba is one of those, and it's just something I dread interacting with. For example: it gave me a ton of issues just logging in. It couldn't reconcile our company name and took me down a path of creating a new company record in the system and not recognizing that maybe I should automatically be directed to the existing account so that the customer wouldn't end up with multiple accounts for our company in their system. Our contacts at the customer often aren't trained in how to administer the system, so they can't pass on instructions to the end user vendors, who have no one to ask when logins don't work, passcodes aren't accepted, and you don't have access to the correct information that is supposed to be in the "event". One customer directed me to Ariba customer service for help, which was confused about why an untrained end user was reaching out. Some of this may of course be the fault of the customer who didn't make sure that someone at their company had ownership of the system and could administer it, but every single time I've had to deal with Ariba, it's been an unpleasant experience.

Oh, that sounds very complicated.

I have replied to RFI once and no feedback I received.

So how do you reach your customer if your business model is B2B? Cause Ariba is providing a Supply and demand platform and that helps to facilitate seeing your customers' requests.

the SAP Ariba platform fuckin SUCKS. I use it for bidding and I hate it. Whomstever decided that Canada will be using it for tenders should face a daily cobra chicken attack.

It has a horrible interface, bad search function and just overcomplicates everything.

I'm sure the buyer side is easier than sorting through pdf bids, but IMO there is a serious loss of selling ability with just filling out an online form and drag/dropping certs when bidding.

It also mislabels bid closing dates, which is a huge issue but still not fixed yet.

Yeah, the buyer side is much easier, I am going to explore other platforms to boost my sales. At the same time, I am going to try Ariba cause most of the orders are very good.

It is horrible. Are you seriously considering building your sales strategy on filling out RFPs posted in Ariba? If so I predict failure.

No, I am not only depending on Ariba. I still use Cold calling, email marketing...etc.
