I think people are just adapting to easier ways for getting people to engage. Nobody wants to read the long drawn out posts anymore. A poll is an easy click to get some lazy engagement.

It might be the case where you have never seen a certain type of car before, then after you notice it, you see that car everywhere. LinkedIn was always plagued with polls, I feel like now it's just more prevalent since we spend most of our time on here - we notice it more when we return to LI. It amazes me how many people decide to make a meaningless poll on LI and it garnishes so much attention.

Every poll is the same premise too!! Want to work from home or go back to the office? What’s your age? Are you where you want to be in life?……….

LinkedIn is full of awful, awful awful polls like

'Do you like sales - Yes / No / I would not like to comment'

Get a grip ( not you) and at least use a poll to help yourself not just be a sheep and do it cos everyone else is.

Swear I saw a poll the other day which was a maths question. outrageous.

I answered, got it right.

All I know is I'm sick of the questions and having the upvote/like type being your different responses.

Bring back downvotes and dislikes - I can't unfollow people fast enough.
