Difference Between BDR and SDR

Genuine question of what the actual difference is between a BDR and an SDR. Sounds like a simple title difference, but have always been curious.

One thing you’ll find in sales is a plethora of bullshit tiles. I personally prefer the title of BDR because it’s more flexible in that ambiguity.

Most of the time there is no different other than what the teams chooses to call them. Some companies differentiate the roles between inbound/outbound roles though.

A B and an S.

if actually depends on the company. Sometimes it’s interchangeable. Sometimes the B is actually a partnerships role. Sometimes it relates to inbound / outbound. Sometimes it’s none of those things.

Nothing... just different ways to say the same thing. Sales/Business. Both are for Revenue sake.

At my previous company, SDR’s were inbound and BDR’s were outbound, though at my new company it’s the opposite, so I think it’s just a title

It’s just a title man. It’s all about the role and responsibility

It really depends on the company. I have seen companies with SDR job titles but in my opinion BDR job responsibilities given that it was entirely outbound.

At the end of the day, these are just titles and something that you just need to clarify with the employer.

Working at companies that have had both, it's the same job.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
It depends on the company - I would put both on my resume.
