Yes! Check out Tulemar Bungalows in Quepos/Manuel Antonio.
Fly into Alajuela (which is the San Jose Airport) and check out Xandari up in the hills. Or La Paz Waterfall Gardens - they have a hotel. Then drive south to Quepos/MA.

Yo dude I live in Costa Rica - go to Guanacaste, playa Avellanas and Tamarindo. I would tell you to miss the city, nothing to see. Check out the beach and nature, Avellanas is the #1 place I would recommend visiting here. Check out Poas Volcano and if you can, go to Monteverde.

I lived in Avellanas for a year, its dirt roads and water from the well, no bars, no commercial areas.. howler monkeys and iguanas all over your backyard or hotel, they are everywhere
I can understand if thats not your gig, if you want CITY nightlife and party, go to Jaco
