Direct Mailing Swag to Customers

Anyone had any success with doing direct mail campaigns with swag?

What did you send? Did you do anything that the prospect was wow'd enough to reach out to you proactively versus your 15th cold call attempt?

Open to any and all ideas...

Note: before someone says "eVeRyOne'S wFh AnD nOt In An oFfIcE" I am targeting folks who are daily office visitors and not in WFH positions

This is genius. May need to give this a go for the playing really hard to get prospects that wouldn't want a yetiย

What kind of swag is it? I would say depends. Is it a pen a notepad, or is it a dope zip up or polo?

I am thinking of custom Yeti's or maybe a dope 1/4 zip (Peter Millar or something a bit higher end)
Trying to stay away from the usual pen/notepad/flash driveย

Yeti's would be dope. Send them out! I feel like Yeti's are super unique and actually something people will use.ย

Will report back - first round of custom Yeti's is on the way (company branded to start, likely going to do personal branding [first initials] next go round)ย

We do this for prospects, but itโ€™s 50/50 between company swag and things we pick up ourselves. Overall Iโ€™ve gotten good feedback.

Any suggestions on things you've picked up yourself? I was thinking of doing blank Yeti's for some prospect versus custom to see if the lack of branding made a bigger impact or not. I know/have heard some prospects don't love using branded products, but i also cant understand someone complaining at a $40 Yeti...

Obviously depends on budget, but blank yetis are a great option. We've also had success with finding what college people went to on LinkedIn and sending them tumblers from their schools. On the cheaper side, Target has these little "Tech Emergency" kits for like $5 that have phone chargers, etc. in them and it's an easy tie in to make (ex: how does your current provider handle your tech emergencies?)

Budget has not been an issue yet, thankfully.
Love the college idea - back in the day a big company beginning with O in their name did that with hats and had some interesting responses: some loved the hat, some were disgruntled alumni: either way, it received traction.ย

Oooh I like that idea! I'm in a cold weather area, and I think that would play really well.

You just also spurred an idea - what are your thoughts on Yeti's with the persons first initial on them? I am creating my "swag" sheet right now based on recent visits, and thought it may be a creative idea in the instances where I am sending 3-4 Yeti's out (thankfully no one has the same first initial or this would fail on the spot...or I would have to change the color scheme and let them duke it out once the box arrives)

I like that!! People love when things are personalized to them. One of the things that we have done (again on the cheaper side) is a Coke bottle campaign where we order the custom coke bottles with people's names on them - huge response every time.ย

Love the Coke bottle idea - I think after the branded Yeti's ill pivot over to the first initials on a Yeti and see what happensย

Let me know! Iโ€™ll be curious to know if the response is different

I've done this. We sent virtual notebooks with a video that plays about our offering. If it went to an influencer and not a stakeholder, it at least garnered enough interest to be put in the right hands. I believe red paper plane makes them.ย
