Discussion on Zoom (or other video conferencing) in terms of B2B sales.

Hello all,

I want to get your feedback on what you think about the video conferencing applications you use.

  1. Do you use video conferencing for sales?
  2. What industry are you in?
  3. What do you love about the video conferencing application?
  4. What do you dislike about it? Any functions that could be added to help? What makes you choose other forms of communication over it?

Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

I use whatever video conferencing tool my customers use to make it easy for them. My personal favorite is Zoom, followed by google, followed by webex, followed my MSFT. I am in SaaS sales.

If a prospect uses anything but slack and zoom theyโ€™re old and outdated and arenโ€™t gonna buy.

It's a necessary evil. We use Teams but if a client prefers another tool we can use it.ย

Zoom seems more professional for customers and prospects but I donโ€™t care internally so we use google meet

thanks for your response! If you don't mind me asking, which industry do you work in?

I think that every video conference platform has some sort of huge flaw, and itโ€™s unfortunate that none took the reigns over the last 18 months and became the de facto industry standard.ย

Could you give some examples of the flaws?!

I think it launches slowly, sometimes crashes on launch, doesnโ€™t update as easily as hoped and on occasion kicks users out of calls. Same issues most platforms have, in my
opinion.ย

I knew that you were a subject matter expert on this one. What a moronic spelling by me lol :-) I blame the sleep deprivation!ย

Google FTW but if your customer uses Teams you're fuckedย

I am a zoom fan but I use G.meet also many a times. Used Teams in the past that sucks bad time.ย

I will always advocate a video conferencing tool if it gives me a leg up in a pitch. I started using Zoom, I've used Google Meet, and I'll use whatever they come up with next if it means I get their (mostly) undivided focus on me while I sell.

SaaS sales. Love: Quickly being able to rapport build while looking at the stupid shit on their walls. Hate: That 18 months later, people still can't tell if they're muted or not.

Love or despise is too extreme for me. Itโ€™s ok but we primarily use Teams and I like it.ย

Ring Central!! Great UI, has all the bells and whistles of zoom and then some. Highly recommend you look at this too before signing with zoom. I work for a SaaS company

We primarily use Teams, but occasionally will use Zoom, Google Meet, or Ring Central if a prospect likes to use their instance instead of ours.

I use Zoom & it's definitely my preferred option for video meetings. I'll use Google Meets on occasion but I like how with Zoom, you can still see everyone else's video when presenting. I'm in B2B SaaSย

We are a Microsoft shop so use Teams, and its functionality has been getting better and better.

Their transcription is pretty awesome, and the collaboration is getting so much better.

Zoom isnโ€™t new for us at my company, weโ€™ve used it long before COVID and I still prefer to stay off camera

I am in SaaS. Used Zoom before, now we use Demodesk for our salesteam since 4 months. Is a meeting platform made for sales teams. Especially nice as we are a transactional business with lot of admin and demo's. All notes I take are directly synced with our CRM, and reminders+follow up is also automatically done for me..
