I feel like I'm in that last scene from 8 Mile every time I attend a forecast meeting with the rest of the AE's (Palms sweaty - You only have one shot, do not miss your chance... Mom's spaghetti)


Additional context: New AE here. I'm super nervous every time I give my forecast in front of the rest of the team. My boss tears up my deals in front of everyone. Trying hard to improve but I'm curious to hear from the rest of the savages - Do all forecasting meetings suck?

I don't think anyone really ever enjoys forecast calls. They normally are just "how can you bring in this deal you were originally forecasting for 3 months from now"

The problem is the belabored weekly pounding of the same 5 deals. More sales leaders need to change their weekly forecast cadence in order to keep it productive and truly a pipeline health check rather than a flogging of each rep and how awful their deals are.

If you pay attention, you'll probably identify patterns in terms of what gets scrutinized in deals and how your sales managers responds to certain communication styles.

Once you've understood exactly what is expected and how it should be delivered it becomes pretty "simple" or at least it's on you to get as close as possible to that target.

More often than not your sales manager will try to assess how confident you are about a deal and if you have a solid plan.
