Do any of you have experience with an outside sales consultant coming in to shake things up?

Hello everyone!

Recently my company hired an outsided sales consultant to run an audit of our entire sales process. They are coming in with a point to prove as they have been fierce in their feedback to everyone so far. During my conversation, I had to do a cold call in the spot with a discovery call, which was under intene scrutiny. (I am a BDR Manager)

The consultant made it clear that those that do not get on board with their plan, would be more or less let go. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the process for these kinds of things always like this?

Side note, my company is a total sales mess. We have a nice pipeline but no real sales metrics and each region doing their own thing, so this audit is well needed.

Those guys are hit or mis. I had a team of them coaching us during my first job. Got a lot of value from it. Others did not. They did streamline the organisation and improved the rules of engagement. Oh and introduced battle cards for every competitorย

That is what I hope they do but so far they seem pretty into telling us everything that is shit, and how we are shit.

The last time I worked for a company that did this more than half were let go. Update your resume and stay vigilant.ย

Man, this is office space come to life "What is it you would say you do here" clearly the company has given full rein to the outside consultant so it's getting on board or start hitting the LinkedIn inbox and job boards...

Sorry forgot one super important thing, I am actually quitting and joining another company in August. So I am out either way, so I am just curious if this is a normal process for this type of thing.ย

A lot!! LOL!! And no the process is not always like that. Depends on intent with which consultant was hired. Sounds like this first round is a sales 101 audit.

I literally feel this, that Sales/Business Development roles are underrated, what's your take folks ?

Thoughts on hiring sales reps based EQ versus IQ? I have hired more on EQ than IQ with a hint of hunger to make more in comms than IQ. What are your thoughts and what would you normally go for?
