Do People Have More Faith In The Market Or Cryptocurrency?

If you think about it we are living through an absolutely crazy time with technology as it grows exponentially. In my short experience working in sales I've found a lot of sales people like to invest in the market/crypto/etc so I'd love to hear from fellow savages what they are bullish and bearish on in the long run.

more people have faith in the market due to the volatility in crypto, but people are investing in crypto due to the insane gains over the past year or so. most people that invest in crypto are like those that got into crossfit 5-6 years ago, they're the loud minority that always have to tell you about what crypto they're going to the moon with. so more people have faith in the market but crypto is the new, shiny and very loud thing right now.ย

That's a great point. Curious to see who will still be loud when crypto enters a bear market at some point, but your right it's still such a new space and a lot of people shouting from the rooftops about their 10x gains

they predict 90% of cryptos will go away during a market downturn, but the 10% that remain will skyrocket. make your money on the wide variety of coins now and then invest for the long term in the big names with valid tech/value. most are worthless but its a crazy market right now.

๐Ÿค Amen goodsir. I like BTC, ETC, and LTC, and have most of my investment in those as they are the big names, but I also have diversified and bought some smaller market cap coins just in case they moon

Curious who you think will survive. BTC and ETH are obvious, but I wonder what will stick around as well. I am sold on ADA/Cardano personally, but besides that, there aren't too many besides that I am a huge advocate for.ย

I'm not big into crypto. i recently started investing in it with money that i can afford to lose. i'm more of a value investor, so my thoughts on what will survive isn't worth much.ย

There will be a correction in crypto, however, not like 2017. We are at a point where publicly traded companies are finding use cases for different blockchain products and people in third world countries have a stronger chance of making it in a global economy. With defi, you can now keep your savings (with risk ofc) in stablecoins on certain protocols and earn interest at rates that banks will never be able to compete with (7%+). An entirely new world of finance is emerging ...there will be winners and there will be losers but this is just the beginning as projects like Chainlink and Polkadot continue interacting with each other and other established companies.ย

Crypto 100%. Blockchain is the future, just look at Ethiopia and their recent Cardano adoption. Over the last year, the entire world literally printed money to combat COVID, thus creating massive amounts of inflation (much of which we have yet to see a true result, but that is coming). That inflation will directly influence the traditional market and financial institutes while Cryptos were created specific to combat that.ย

With a finite amount of coins in most crypto currencies, and the adoption of cryptos within many retailers and banks, cryptos are clearly leading the way.

On a separate note, I have also been investing in high end sneakers, and been seeing a large return there as well. The sports card industry has also become a massive market. I know numerous people who have invested ~200 in cards and seen a return of over 1200. This is for sealed packs, not even specific cards. Just look at the recent Mike Trout rookie card that sold for over 1 mil.ย

Its become oversaturated by bots. But I always enter the raffles of shoes I predict will be high value, and I have access to and just hope. If you don't win, no money lost, if you do win, you could be seeing a 10X profit with some shoes. I got some yeezy foam runners last month for $80, sold them the next day for $400

Love this answer man. Yes I agree way too much inflation will occur because of governments printing money and what a great idea didn't even think to invest in sneakers and playing cards!

Its absurd when it comes to sports cards. I have thousands of older cards, but many of those are pennies on the dollar in comparison to say a Mike Trout Rookie Card. I literally have a Yaz rookie card in essentially perfect condition (needs to be graded), and a Mike trout card is worth more because its shiny lol.ย

I have bought almost 40 pairs of sneakers during COVID. Once things open back up fully again, people are going to spend their money on clothing/luxury wear. It'll be the roaring 20's all over again.ย

Crypto still seems very sketchy to me. I'm skeptical of the tangible value of any cryptocurrency other than as a speculative asset.ย

Fair point. I think 75% of people in crypto are in it for speculative assets. Call me an optimist, but I'm hopeful crypto can have more use-cases as it becomes more adopted!

As someone who's been heavily in the crypto space since 2016, the first thing you need to do is separate general crypto and bitcoin IMO. General crypto market is a casino at the moment. These new coins popping up claiming to be the "<insert legit coin here> killer" that focus on mooning are mostly crap and will wash away over time. This happened in 2017 with the "ico" craze.ย ย
Bitcoin is incredibly sound and is not going anywhere. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone learning more to read "The Bitcoin Standard" by Saifedean Ammous.
Here's my opinion on how I view it. For which coin will be the global digital standard, it's bitcoin or bust. I could write pages as to why this is, but I'd refer folks to the book or there are some great bitcoin conversations happening every week on the podcast "we study billionaires"ย
Along with bitcoin will be broken out ecosystems of different coins/blockchains. For example, Ethereum is its own ecosystem that allows other's to build on the decentralized web. Things like digital collectibles (NFTs), games, site etc.ย
In short, don't chase the gains, don't buy because of FOMO (trust me as someone who did it years ago), do your homework and push through the noise. Last, look at the long term.

I'm invested in both, but much more in the market. I've been following crypto for enough years to feel worried when random boomers I know are buying terrible altcoins with no fundamental reason to exist. I think people have more faith in the market because as soon as sentiment shifts against crypto, the prices will start dropping heavily. Maybe BTC and ETH will do fine, but I think they'll all take a beating. On the other hand, the stock market is seen as a sure thing in the long run by the vast majority of people.

Maybe the crypto market will be different this time, but who knows. It has been a blast watching my crypto rip.

i diversify and look to financialsamurai.com and tidbits from ray dalio and warren b for general guidance.... cannot say enough about financialsamurai.com . Sam worked in high-finance and his perspective is phenomenal for people with assets to invest. i'm probably below his low-end target for networth but understanding how the wealthy really invest and think through money is phenomenal
