Most don’t have the money to outsource sales. Most founders end up being the initial sales people and then eventually hire a sales team gradually.

^ This. The sales motion only kicks on when the inbound requests reach a tipping point.

What if sales organization is ready to work on 100% commission based contract?

I mean maybe -- but startups are small and lean. Usually founders do sales themselves until they can hire someone else.

Most of the highly funded tech startups have founders from tech background with no experience with sales. I realised this after analysing lot of YC backed startups.

I've seen outsourced lead gen, but not outsourced sales. That said, I've not worked for a startup in many years.

I just ran into one yesterday that was contracting their SDRs instead of employing them.

I read it as Safety wing is hiring. They are a "global insurance agency"- whatever the hell that means.

In most modern B2B sales environment is not a simple cookie cutter process. Products that are simple like that are being moved to a direct sales model where limited sales people are involved.

Complex enterprise products are no longer being sold primarily sold based on the product itself, but rather on the value that can be demonstrated. So essentially you are no longer selling product and services, you are selling change and the value/money of that change.

That type of sales and the salespeople who are successful at delivering on it is becoming a central value to the business. Basically, sales done right is no a big part of the value prop and is not something anybody would want as an external part of their business. I believe the same thing is happening to the BDR function, as they are also becoming a central value to the business.

So, in short, no I don’t think it’s a long term sustainable business model to offer outsourced sales in tech startup. That being said, it might work in other industries that I have limited insight into.

Outsourced SDR team may work. What do you think?

Yeah, at least for now. However, there are a million of those. So, you’ll either have to have a unique value or you’ll just end up competing on price and that’ll be a race to the bottom.

What can be some of the unique values I can add to my offer to stand out from the crowd?

What advice would you give me according to your experience in sales?

Frankly, I don’t hope you would differentiate an BDR outsource business. Maybe take a look at www.predictablerevenue.com

It’s a money issue. If they got funding they could do it like that.

not so much in startups ( at least super early stages) It could happen later down the down, but unlikely overall.
