It basically ties into mirroring and a lesson I learned back in my car selling days: You can dress-down on the spot but you can’t dress-up.
What I mean by that is if a blue-collar prospect walked into the showroom and I’m wearing a full suit, I have options… I can take my jacket off and roll up my sleeves, take off my tie, etc… It doesn’t work the other way around.

Love this answer. In professional and personal circumstances I would always rather be overdressed than under.

I would say shirt and jacket when going to meet people. At least. Depends on the situation though. I have a spare suit, tie, shoes and shirt in my office just in case. That way on days when I have nothing planned I can show up casual in dress pants and a dress shirt, but if I get a client meeting out of the blue I'm covered

I think it totally depends on the client. Dress how they dress.

Eh-Eh-ron. Welcome you're new.
Sorry you're getting downvoted, it's how fellow sales savages police low quality content on here. You started in a rough spot, but don't worry - the people here are super supportive and have TONS of advice to share on best practices.
Hopefully you get a bit more substantive in your next post. Maybe explain why you're asking? A culture shift in your industry?
Stay well, and welcome.

My last 2 companies have been inside sales and everyone wears T shirts to the office. Some times you throw a button down on or a polo but it’s rare.
