Do Webinars Drive Sales?

My company seems to have a fetish with webinars. There's a webinar for absolutely everything and they want to drive attendance to all of them. In your opinion, do webinars help drive sales?

If I had a bottle of Kahlua for every minute I've zoned out of a webinar in the first 5 minutes I would have gotten a liver transplant 4 years ago.

I give them a minute or two to ask everyone "can you guys hear me ok?" or to crack some stupid joke that garners a cheap laugh. Once they start talking product, I'm swiping on Hinge.

I think there was a bit of burnout during Covid. Every company was hosting a webinar basically weekly. Saturation. That being said our company is doing a brand/product launch series and we’ve got almost 3k registered for the first event which is insane to me. Usually see 2-500 for our stuff.

I sell a hardgood that provides a benefit many are currently looking for.. so yes for me. BUT- for many other types of sales I'd say it's a wash/would be harder to tell.
At best, it might start a conversation afterwards. It's the age old question, "does marketing make sales?"

Well, they drive engagement, which drives interest, which drives leads. So, in a way, yes. I'd say webinars do drive sales. At least your marketing team is actively trying to put prospects into nurture campaigns.

I've worked at companies where they drive zero sales and at companies where they drive a ton of sales. It just depends

I haven't personally had a webinar drive sales. It's more there for thought leadership in my mind.

We do webinars catered toward super niche focus areas of potential clients, so we close a few deals from each. Our company has very little brand recognition right now, and webinars are our main source of “inbound”
