I care because it may give extra money for more resources in marketing for leads or more sales tech etc.ย

I also think itโ€™s fair to ask management what a new series round means for the sales org.ย

Normally it means more headcount but if thatโ€™s the only thing, Iโ€™d be worriedย

The moment they take more money, they expect more money generated from you. Absolutely should pay attention to this.

Also - push for ESOP on every turn.ย

This questions is heavily dependent on whether or not you have equity in the company. If youโ€™re in a startup and you get halved it blows lol obviously some could argue the cash injection could boost everything so it could* be a wash but rarely is that the case you usually get diluted.ย

It entirely depends on the company. There are good parts and bad parts

Good: More investment into product, people, and technologies
Bad: Higher goals, more pressure to close quickly

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
You want the company to have money. But funding also doesn't replace good management, strong product, a good customer base and those things are NOT always related.

They can sometimes be detrimental to culture as many VCs have their regurgitated plan that 'worked for Cisco' so they slap the hiring and territory plans onto a company way too immature for it.ย  AKA way overhire and dilute the ability to make money and lower cost of sales to show "growth"

I only care or will care if I own shares in the company I work for. This case i am not.

I'm a big fan of Moleskine. I find (with most things in life) the more I spend on something, the more likely I am to use it.
