I don’t think it’s weird at all to follow your boss. But maybe that’s because we are a smaller org? My AEs and SDRs follow me and I follow them and I follow all my higher ups.

Most of my coworkers consider each other fairly good friends and most of us have been working together for years. Maybe that’s why it seems normal to me?

I’ll follow my co workers no problem. The minute they become a manager I’ll unfriend/ unfollow/ and ensure they also cannot see my content. I have no problem addressing it in person either. It prevents any potential drama down the road, nothing personal, and is mutually beneficial.

That being said, if either of us leave the company, I would have no problem re following them.

Being connected to internal management of any kind is generally not a good idea.

Done it with one manager before (and now he's left the company), but that's only because I know he was a rock solid dude. There were so many instances where he put himself on the line to protect me and the team. Guy like that absolutely deserves a like from me on his next snowboarding pic :P
