Hey whats up hello,

Does your company give you end of year bonus or the fact that you are in sales is your bonus?

My company does not.... SAD

Bonus structures are built for non-IC or non-commission roles. Sometimes they're quarterly and sometimes they're annual. However, some companies also compensate all staff based on company performance, which is paid in addition to their commissions and other compensatory agreements.

Do companies still do this? I thought it was a thing of the past. No, I get a residual based on what I sold the previous year but that comes in January.

I'd love that. Or comp based on deals the rest of the company fucked up and I now won't get or have to wait another 6 months for.

Hell, even just the interest on that would be nice.

No, I'm not bitter at all...

Damn, I wouldn't mind getting residuals come January. I get paid X% that month I close the deal..... no upsells, no renewals, nothing after the first X%.

Who are you, Bob Cratchit?

Your bonus is comission. If you want an end of year bonus go close a deal.

I don't think Sales people in general get these types of bonuses. If your commission structure is good most people are in accelerators by EOY and get some extra commissions.

I've gotten bonuses from time to time, but usually that happened when there was something FUBAR with the sales plan and some people went above and beyond for the company.

In sales, you make your own bonus by going over your OTE and entering the world of accelerators.

Mine did last year! So then this year, we were all sitting around & waiting for the announcement of EOY bonuses and it never came... also SAD

Nah, commission is it.

Like the kid stories say: "The bonus you wanted was inside you the whole time!"

Yeah I agree with a few others here. A year end bonus would be nice, but feels like the least sales thing ever hahah.

Maybe marketing still gets that??????

Damn, I am sorry to hear. If it makes you feel any better, that is better than my bonus of $0.00

Yes.  First time ever.  Not only did I get an end of year bonus but I also received a slight increase in base pay.

I got $2400 raise to my base. Which comes to 1.04% increase to my 60k base. While I think it's cool, it's only an additional $100 per paycheck. Compared to >6% inflation rate + my over performance, I should be asking for more. But then again, commission is always a big payout.

But is your commission rising by 5%

It isn't. It's still at 100k, which has been fairly attainable this past quarter. I'm up for review for an AE position around Q3. I think in fairly well paid though seeing as how I'll end up making around 85-95k before tax.

The bonuses for quota bearing sales is different than the rest fo the company. We get a set amount that is in our comp plan if we hit 100% and get half of that if we hit 80%. Paid end of January

FEELINGS- Your commission is annual (ARR) but the customer paid monthly (MRR) and if there is a churn in the next few months, the company will deduct by increasing your quota and taking the equivalent amount $$ from your quota in the next month.
