Do you guys use sales script?

I want to get the feedback of war room closers on using the sales script.

Does it make any difference or do you just use it in your initial days of being a closer?

Do you always use sales sript?

I do have an outline in front of me when I get onto a call so that I can make sure to touch on everything I wanted to in the call.

Scripts are great when you are getting started, and I do pull from them to create my own talk tracks and use in my pitches, but I have to use my own words, or I sound, well, scripted.

The script is important as it is the skeletal structure of your pitch. Now, once you get that down, you can add the meat to it and make it your own. The better you get at the product knowledge and your flow, then the less robotic you sound and the more natural it comes off.

Talk tracks are more important than scripts. Otherwise you sound scripted...

And get flustered. It's like a speaker who is reading off their notes - you can always tell.

Scripts are the bones, you need to add some meat on them.

I don't use a script, but I definitely have an outline/bullets/key phrases I like to use.

A script? No. Bullet points of what I plan to discuss? Absolutely.

ive been in sales for 10 years and I will STILL pull up a script when im making cold calls.

Not to read word for word, but to have the frame work there so i dont get lost. you never know what you are going to say when you get nervous.

its like a security blanket haha

exactly. Even NBA players practice layups before a game. They need the basics down like anyone else.

I use "talk tracks" not so much "scripts". Maybe scripts something like a new product/offering until I make it my own.

I like using a call guide, rather than a script

Framework/Talk track>Script. Having a value prop, solution and CTA is more important than a verbatim script.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
I've been doing sales a long time and I still script out, at a high level, what I'm going to say, the path I want the conversation to go, important questions, etc. Regardless if I am doing a presentation or cold calls.

It helps to make the conversation product, keep the "ums and ahs" to a minimum, sound professional, and get to the destination you want to get to with the client.

Anyone who doesn't have some sort of written script is failing to plan IMO.

They are great to train up on to give you confidence but then you will discover your own flow

Used to because it was mandated, itโ€™s usually based on manager preferenceโ€ฆ

I keep an outline in front of me with general talk tracks. I don't have a word for word script though
