Do you look for a job when a deal falls through?

Weird question: do any of you just immediately open up Glassdoor or LinkedIn Jobs when a deal falls through? I do, even though I have no intention of leaving my job at the moment. Is it like a security blanket when I think it'll be easier to just quit then update my forecast to $0 for the month?

I don’t look for a new wife just because I didn’t get lucky tonight. I’ll ask twice tomorrow. Hang in there buddy and keep swinging.

Like the Holy Father taught me in confirmation. Eat ass, get cash, die fast. Sales has brought me closer to God.

The factors you have under your control are that pipeline, so make sure it's healthy.

Depends on why the deal was lost - everyone fucks up now and then. If the reason is beyond your control and there is no accountability, then fuck that noise. I'm looking.

But you said you'd never leave your job, so what is the point other than a coping mechanism?

oh it's just a coping mechanism, just the "God damn it" leads to "wouldn't it be sick if i could make so much more money doing the same shit" and then after 15 minutes i get grossed out at the thought of not knowing anyone/my product and then I'm good haha

I mean, that's not the nicest thing to say, but if gotta rag on someone asking for advice after a lame occurrence, do your thing homie

When things are not going well with a deal or multiple deals double down on prospecting + the things you can control.

No. Although I have definitely taken initial interviews as a slump busters/confidence boosters, esp. if a boss is trying to flex.

In life, we're often only as good as our options. And I trust almost no one.

I've from time to time done this after a rough internal meeting, or a tough day.  Its completely illogical, but for whatever reason soothes the soul.  I 100% feel you on this.

You only have one deal for the month? Maybe you should look for a new job.
