Do you need proof for every bullet point on your resume

Not to be shady, but when working in big corporations, it's already hard to keep track of accurate attainment levels for example (sometimes even multiple ways of spreading targets across quarters). How do you go about mentioning things like "grew territory X%" or "attained Y% in Q4"?

If it has been so long and don't remember put a range or approximate instead of a bold number and explain you don't know the exact digit by heart.

I like this approach, makes you look human.

Or made up. Hiring managers look for numbers and then ask how you got there during the interview. But you don’t get asked to the interview without the numbers.

If the position was held more than 2-3 years ago, it may be difficult to recall the specifics of growth percentage or quota attainment. Especially if you hadn't properly documented that in the past.

I have yet to have a hiring manager ask for specifics to my fairly vague statement of "achieved 100%+ quota attainment from Q2 to Q4" for a job that was held 4 years ago

At my last firm, they had a 3rd party vendor verify every single thing on my resume. Yes, they called every single one to verify employment and length of time listed.

It also depends on where you’re located. In NY, they are only legally allowed to verify that you worked there. Nothing more.

If you're worried about it, you've probably wiggled those numbers too much.

If you're worried about accuracy for the sake of accuracy no one cares within reason.

Stats can be skewed by whoever presents them so 80 Vs 85 is an ehh, but if you're coming at them with a 70% Vs a 50% might want to think of another stat.

LOL no, I don't think I need to prove anything to anybody. My demeanor and work ethic will give them the answer eventually, and if they see it, they see it, if they don't that's alright with me.

No, you don’t need proof. But you also shouldn’t lie.

You should be able to speak to each point and have a truthful explanation. I'm not saying you can't phrase things to put them in the best light, but if you're already flat out lying about #s it will probably come back to haunt you as many lies do.

Many companies understand that people aren't perfect and depending on the values you want your next organization to hold high you can align with them through your interview.

I generally have 4-5 bullet points of achievements and I make sure I branch out multiple questions from those pointers before I get set for an interview.

I know there are a lot we don't remember but I remember things that I am proud of or think is remarkable and thats it.

I saw a comment that said the numbers get you the interview which I feel is 100% correct. The way you explain those numbers in an interview gets you the offer.

Definitely hard to keep track especially after being in one place for years. When you are talking to recruiters about this definitely dont stutter over your answer on why you put those numbers or what processes you used to get to those numbers. Be truthful and upfront and you should be alright.

In most states thats the case. I input these type of stats in my brag book, presidents club awards, rankings, etc. Each year quarter, esseentially however it is kept track

I try to maintain stats that I accomplish on my linkedin, and then copy and condense to add to my resume. Then I include my LinkedIn url on my resume to make it seem like it's a carbon copy. Could lead to my credibility, or I'm just wasting my time lol
