Do You Negotiate Everything?

As sales people, I feel like we have the natural talent to negotiate and really drive down costs for our clients so we can get deals signed, but also to the point where it is beneficial to us. The ultimate win-win situation we love to speak of.

With that being said, obviously we negotiate in sales as it is our job. BUT, do you negotiate in your every day life? Yesterday I used my savvy sales techniques to negotiate a gym membership monthly price down pretty significantly.

Do you negotiate random things in life? If so, what are some of the craziest things you have negotiated on (not saying a gym membership is a crazy thing - just an example). I would love to see where I can save more money in life.

Ahhh I see. Lol yes in that case. I'm very aggressive to car salesmen. They do not like interacting with me after they get a taste of what I give em lol

You would rather pay more to make something go faster? What if it saved you $1,000+ ?

Well obviously it depends on what we’re negotiating. What if I’m buying a house? Is 1k worth another couple days of negotiations? Of course not

Literally everything… my veneers, my car, my lease on my apartment 😂 medical bills are one of the easiest to negotiate if you call them directly and pay cash. Always try, doesn’t hurt to ask!

MEDICAL BILLS?!?!?!?! Stop it. You can negotiate medical bills? How do you even go about that? I had foot surgery last year so I would love to get them down. Lol

I use to negotiate but found myself being unreasonable so I've stopped for mid-size purchases. Of course big fan of Chris Voss.

Anything from 5-10K. Anything above that I’ll be shopping.

I negotiate on anything I think I have wiggle room on. (in the right circumstances) I ask for the cash price: usually save a few more points ie on landscaping/tree removal/AC tune up etc

I routinely negotiate with myself on whether or not I should exercise.

I'd say it's part of the game/job but depends on how often you're getting ghosted. There's a reason it's suggested to have 3-4x your pipeline. I usually expect to get ghosted by 75% of the people I talk to unfortunately.

What do you sell? One thought I have is that you're not "really" getting an order, they're just saying "sure send it" with no intention.
