Do you prefer monthly or quarterly quota?

I've never worked with an annual quota so I can't offer a real opinion on that, but I have worked with quarterly and monthly quotas and I've found quarterly to be way less stressful.

However, monthly quotas seem to galvanize a team more in my experience and the end of the month is always an exciting time on a sales floor. It's also a chance for us to celebrate wins 12 times a year instead of only 4 so I have to say monthly, but maybe I'm just a masochist. (Aren't all salespeople?)

Hate to be that guy but, it depends. If it's a more transactional sale, then monthly. If it is a real solution sale that takes months, then quarterly.

I have a friend that has quarterly quotas for a transactional sale and she said that it's very discouraging to see someone close 20 more deals than you a month in, which can lead to morale being obliterated.

Mine's annual, but we're incentivized to close 25%+ each quarter with "kickers"
