Do you reply to spam emails or unsubscribe/ignore?

I tend to always try and reply to people that randomly email me (usually it isn't anything relevant to me nor my company). I do this as i'd like to think people in my role would do the same, but i've seen numerous posts on linkedin about how you shouldn't and vice versa.

Would like to know if people have the same thoughts as me or different reactions!

I hit the spam button and move on.

Edited, sir.

Do you not think you're that person and on the other side they may just be hitting the spam button on you?

Oh, I know when they do because I can see my spam rates in HubSpot. Usually about 1% on any given campaign. The only time I reply is when the email may damage the company that sent it, examples include sharing information that is not public.

Interesting, I've never had someone do that, I generally just get the usual pre-scripted template which has nothing to do with me. Do you have any examples (willing to say) in which it was that scenario?

Best example was someone sent me a spreadsheet with client revenue data in it to show me what their tool was capable of. That client likely didn’t want that info shared, and it was clearly a random doc and not dummy data.

It depends. True spam, I delete. If it is a misguided brand new SDR who stuck me in a sequence Marketing is making them use, I will probably reply and give them a tip or two and then politely ask to be removed from the list.

I'm too afraid to click any links in an email so I'll never unsubscribe. I may message them back if it looks like they took some time and actually looked at my profile

Literal spam goes in the trash. Irrelevant old outreach I have a heart and respond politely telling them I ain't their prospect.
