I like the billionaire look: Nice jeans, button down, no freaking tie, sport coat. If it’s good enough to run Virgin Airlines, it’s good enough for me. Obviously, if you get the vibe that the company you are going to is more uptight, then put on a suit. But I still won’t wear a tie unless I absolutely have to. I did it for too many years and I’m not going back.
I think it varies by industry but in general, getting more casual. I used to go full suit and tie (gov sales) first I lost the tie and then went nice slacks and jacket with a button-up shirt. Now with Covid and few personal mtgs its a crapshoot

For me I always suit up in person, tie is optional. Zoom wise - crap shoot. Good compromise is always dress shirt, jacket, and nice jeans.

Working in (and selling mostly to) the saas startup world, a full suit would feel out of the ordinary. It definitely depends on the industry but if you show up in a full suit and everyone you're selling to is wearing jeans and a t shirt, it's a bit alarming.
Agree, never saw one full suite in SaaS sales these last 2 yrs :)
Maybe tho' if selling into financial / Wall Street, do the full suit and tie.
Dress for the job you want, not the job you have
If it's full-suit/tie required it's generally easy to pick up on the vibe. For everything else, can't go wrong with a button-down shirt with nice jeans and maybe a jacket/sport coat depending on your style
I'm in a pretty casual industry. I normally wear a company polo and a nice pair of pants. If its a more important/higher level meeting, I'd wear a suit.
As a heavily tattooed woman, I have been struggling this when meeting prospects in person. I need to have my body essentially covered from my neck to my toes, which is easily done in business attire. However, now that we're obviously working from home, I can't just throw on a polo shirt like every other dude.
This literally happened to me last week - I wore a long full skirt with black nylons, long sleeved button down and a belt. Small heeled boots. Prospect literally said, "why did you get so dressed up?". I told them at our next meeting i'm going in full biker gear.
Also, I don't wear jeans. Like ever. I'm a spandex, band t-shirt which I cut to hell and leather jacket kind of girl.
