No. Even if I am above my target, unless the org as a whole is pacing well above there will always be the inevitable ask to “pull something in to help the team” and a great way to get on leaderships bad side is to be the one on vacation.

I agree - I don't even think to take off. What about EOY holidays? I could see a day or two, but nothing major.

Federal and religious holidays are the exception for me. I always take time off for family, but still I won’t take weeks off.

IDK man, having time off is kinda important. I take a vacation every 2 years or so, went on to almost 4 years without taking one and I felt so much better coming back and giving 0 fucks on quota. Sometimes you gotta be selfish, take a week or 2 off, they are yours to take.

Let me clarify - I will absolutely take weeks off at a time, just not at EOQ.

If I'm above, great! If I'm below, what the fuck was I doing the other 11 weeks of the the quarter to not get above?

Totally agree here. Don't leave everything until the end of the quarter.

I’ve earned my ability to take time off whenever I want. Usually take the last week or two off at EOY

Yes! Company is paying for the vacation the last two weeks. Pretty common in Denmark.

(pressed wrong at the pool, sorry!)

Wow, that's really interesting. I'm based in the US, and that is definitely not the culture here. And no problem!

We close over 50% of our deals in the last two weeks, so unless I'm absolutely crushing it I'm gonna be there.

ALSO - the energy of the rest of the team just grinding the fuck out of their deals is contagious.

I thought about it hard and went and did it anyway, went to Santa Marta Colombia, and stayed in a little apartment 3 or 4 blocks away from the beach and didn't think AT ALL  about work and it was AWESOME. So yeah, take them whenever you feel you need to take them.

IMHO, if you've delivered numbers 11 of 12 months or even 10 of 12 months, you deserve your 2 weeks off a year, whenever that is.

My vacations are usually planned pretty far in advance, especially if it's more than a day. I usually wouldn't plan one for EOQ.

This imo is a huge no for me. Just bad optics plus it hurts my bottom line

Seriously?  Nothing shows you have zero situational awareness more than taking (or even requesting) time off at the end of a year or quarter.  I feel like that's like sitting down with 10 seconds left in an NBA playoff game.  Strap up and get your shit done, regardless of your current attainment.  Take a break when the new quarter starts.

What a soft question...

Not you as in you, by the way.  I mean the royal "you".  As in people who ask this question in real life.

Yes!! You can still close deals on vacation if you need to be pulled in. Take your laptop with you and finish what you need in the morning or at night. Always worth it.
