Do you think fashion blogs are still as influential in the industry as they used to be?

In the past, fashion blogs used to give information about current fashion styles and give practical and realistic advices. Now, I think the articles on these blogs are too personal and far from informative. However, the post-modern fashion sense consists of styles that are not universal and have been customized. From this point of view, articles in which only the blogger's personal tastes and style preferences are explained cannot attract the attention of the majority. What are you thinking?

I long since stopped caring what GQ, et all, tell me what I should wear.

Heres what you need to know about real world fashion in business/sales- buy a few classic items - blue sport coat, some white shirts, etc - and have a nice suit for special occasions. Invest in some cool socks to express your personality. Still have question? Look at what your bossโ€™s boss wears.

I should start my own fashion blog.

Any blog that's product/DTC focused will probably need a lot of content created OR be very specific/niche.

Revenue generated via display ads and affiliate links.

I agree with you: more general blogs with a universal style will have a better reach. Add in that men generally do not buy as much clothing, it becomes even easier to fall into that trap of going too specific.

Listened to a podcast a couple days ago about Stitch Fix going for men and absolutely falling on their face because of that.

Stop with the fucking wallet spam.

@Gatsbythis person posted the same link recently. Has nothing to do with sales. Seems to be driving traffic to some odd website.

i really have no idea what this has to do with sales unless I'm missing something......

but just like most things, content consumption has shifted to video/digital. Thats why tiktok, instagram, youtube shorts are so powerful.
That is where ppl are learning about new things, including fashion, all the time.
