I can get behind that.

You don't want to push a public update on Day 1 and then realize it's a cult on Day 2

I'm just trying to help you actually, ya know, contribute to this community?

As is PBC.

Just straight up asking a question with no context, no insight, absolutely nothing of value is kinda frowned upon here.

You've been around long enough to know that.

I tend to take a week or so, depending if I left on good terms and have deals that might be closing in the near term.

Then it seems you might have some weird fanboy on a vengeance campaign on your behalf.

Or someone's targeting me again. *sigh*

But strangely I'm only seeing it here

I made the mistake once of doing this within my 90 days (it was part of my onboarding to-do checklist so.... ok?) and ended up getting canned during the probation period.

This is likely an outlier scenario but proceed with caution haha

so did you just take it right off then? If so, any repercussions?

@Heisenbum yup just an immediate delete and forget. No repercussions other than personal embarrassment but I shrugged it off and moved forward with a small chip on my shoulder

Last couple positions I didnโ€™t really want my previous company to know where I had landed immediately. So I waited a while before updating LinkedIn

Congratulations on the new job. Wait it out. Donโ€™t feel pressured. You can always change dates of joining later. Wait a month
