Do you want to actually make money, or have the perception of making money?

When looking to make a new change to a new role, what is more important: Uncapped Commissions, or percentage of deals closed?

In other words... Are you going to be more attracted by a shiny number that one person made in commission during the early stages of the company when leads were a dime a dozen, or look at the data of average deal size, conversion rates, and opportunity to upsell in the future?
