Does my Company Practice Bad Sales?

Hey Everyone, quick question here....


I am coming up on my first year in tech sales and am wanting to know if my company is practicing bad sales. For context, since I've started, I've been told to treat my role like I'm in the Wolf of Wall Street movie. In other words doing and saying anything I need to to make a sale. I've been told many times to tell "white" lies, and although they tell us to research our prospects, they give us no time to do so.


Is my company practicing bad sales or is this just how sales is? Might just be me but from following top sales influencers on LinkedIn, seems like my company is a bit outdated.

This is not a good practice at all. Lying is not going the help the company long term. If you don’t research the prospect, how would you make an effective outreach. So for sure bad practices.
