Does using textbook sales lines make me a worse rep? Does that make sense?

video cover

I'm always asking prospects if "that makes sense" while I'm going through a demo or answering clarifying questions. I feel that it helps us confirm that we're on the same page, but sometimes I feel like the old guy from Entourage who would always say, "Would that be something you might be interested in?"

Do textbook sales lines make me a worse sales rep? What are some sales lines that you use all the time? Are they textbook lines because they work?

One line I never use is, "And how does that make you feel?" Love Sandler but that's just too much for me.

However I'm totally guilty of saying "I'll be brief..." But I think it works so I'm sticking to it

Oh boy. I have used that line more times than I would like to admit to. And I felt the exact same thing as you. Good old Entourage.

One line I use quite a bit is "You're going to hate me, but this is a cold call".

Surprisingly, I have only been hung up on once because of it.

Guilty of approaching every call with, "I only have a few minutes." Seems to work.
