Double Tapping Prospects

One thing we always run into during cold calling blocks is getting hung up on. Whether it's when you say your name, your company name, or ask for a few second of the prospects time. It's unavoidable.

My question is though, do you double tap people who hang up on you? Immediately hit that redial button and say "Hey I think we got disconnected"?

What is your strategy with people who hang up?

I personally double tap them. my manager and I joke about if they hang up again, to call a third time and then hang up on them.

Do you double tap?

I double-tap with an email "Hey, maybe it was a bad connection, but we got disconnected. When can we set up some time?"

Even if it's an irate response, it's still a response.

I feel like spamming potential clients just kills the relationship altogether.

I rather send an email with some info (try not to make it seem like we didn't actually talk) - then remarket 90 days later and email in the same chain asking if they still need help with XYZ.

Sometimes they bite on the 2nd attempt thinking they had already worked with you in the past.

Agreed. I hate getting spammy, but man calling someone back right after they hang up is cathartic.

I've done it before - more fucking with them than anything else. But companies with real potential - I'd just let it go and circle back. Better conversion rates in my experience

I do, but I don't think it's effective. Just makes me feel better

Same. It probably be better to call them on a different day when whatever is currently up their butt crawls out.

Double tap every time. That’s all you got? At least give me some effort with an insult

Lol sometimes I get irritated and when I get sent to voicemail I leave a passive aggressive voicemail saying "I'm only reaching out to you because I see how I can help you drive more customers. If you ever think it's a good idea to make more money let me know." But only when my feelings get the best of me.

On the real - never stop prospecting people unless they say no. If you don't have the balls or decency to give me a firm no, then I won't stop reaching out until you do (and tell me why/when better timing is)

How many times will you call a prospect after they don't answer the first time? At what frequency? I typically don't make a lot of repeat calls, just call with volume consistently and try to catch folks at the right time...
