Emojis in emails

I have quite a few clients who use emojis in their email to me, but I can’t bring myself to throw them back an occasional 🤙🏼, have a great day 🌞, or enjoy your weekend 🍻. Am I stuck in the dark ages or is it keeping my “professionalism” in tact?

I definitely use emojis to
1. Lighten the mood a little (builds trust cuz they can relate with you)
2. Emojis legit add more clarity to your tone.

I think you follow their lead. I see a lot of older clients doing it, and think it may be a way for them to feel young and connected. Give it a shot. You might hate it, but it might help the relationship.

I agree, personally, I wouldn't include emoji's in the first few correspondences but if they used them then I would add a few in my emails, or if there was a good relationship that had formed I'd be comfortable ending an email with have a great weekend 🍻

However, I would avoid emoji's if I were emailing a wide audience

I think it helps with interpreting tone! It's so hard to read the vibe on an email.

It's not professional which isn't something they ACTUALLY care about but are likely to respond and say it's not professional.

Emojis are great and when I use them I see prospects opening emails multiple times and even replying back.

It actually makes me smile when someone sends me an emoji and with same assumption I add as well.

I think a lot of it depends on the relationship you've built with the prospect/client

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I have a lot of clients that write emails with poor grammar/spelling when they're hurried but you can guarantee they wouldn't enjoy it if I did that. I think emojis are the same way.
