Enough is Enough. This is the only productivity post you need to see.

What I'm about to share with you isn't for the faint hearted.

Should you advise a professional before taking on the "challenge" or "action" that I'm about to suggest?

Perhaps.

but perhaps you're brave ( some argue stupid) enough to just take the plunge and do it.

So here goes nothing.

My productivity "challenge" for you is:

REMOVE YOUR PHONE FROM THE ROOM YOU ARE WORKING IN.

Do you work from your bedroom?

Put your phone in your washroom/kitchen/box under the coffee table in your living room etc...

It sounds so simple and stupid but god damn it does it work.

Idk about you guys but I have no shame in admitting that I am addicted to my phone. I used to work with my phone right next to me, and I never kept count but If I had to guess, I probably reached for my phone at least 200 times a day (average is apparently 262 times per day).

I've also had moments where I'm on a call with the camera off ( obviously) and if I started to drift off, it would be damn near impossible to resist the temptation of checking my phone.

Put your phone away for a day and see the difference in your output.

I agree to some degree, but would say it could probably just be like "log out of social media during the day" because:
1) I use my phone for work
2) I use the web interface for Bravado
3) If I hide my phone how will people tell me my car warranty is expired?

Also, paragraphs my dog. Paragraphs.ย

No haha I DO like paragraphs lol. All the extra spaces make it hard to read on my phone :) Some of the lines could definitely be combined.ย

Exactly what I was thinking as well. I solved it by having a private and professional phone.ย

I need a phone break every 15 or 20 minutes for my own sanity. There isn't enough cocaine or Adderall on this planet that could make me focus on work for 8 straight hours.

Sound advice. I purposely deleted Snapchat, Fb, Instagram etc as you get caught in the rabbit hole of videos, unfortunately, I can't delete youtube from my laptop but I agree. I know many people that whilst talking to you just sit in their phone, not only is it rude, but it's a bad habit. Those people also always complain about being behind on work...I wonder why.ย

haha exactly and also, you can download a bunch of programs online that block any website you want, including youtube!ย

I work with my phone like next to me, and I really never look at it. I rarely pick it up during working hours. I'll never blame a device for my lack of productivity, just my lack of will which sometimes gets there. I guess the question behind this is why would you grab your phone and intentionally get distracted to begin with?

I agree but for me Iโ€™ll usually just leave it on a charger for a while so I donโ€™t get disgraced so easily, but I love checking WR on my phone

Promise not to check my phone during meetings. I always have the camera on. I go hard with the hyuck personality in zoom. If thatโ€™s all I getโ€ฆ. They better not catch me zoning out lol
