Enterprise AE Role with a Call Count - is this normal?

Hello Bravado,

I recently switched over from an SDR role to an enterprise AE role. Obviously, I know I'll never get away from prospecting completely but I was a little taken back to hear I still had a cold call count as an enterprise AE. Yep, just another goal of 65 dials a day on top of managing active customers that suck up my time!

What about my other enterprise AE's out there? Are you still smiling and dialing to hit that cold call count? I want to hear your thoughts.

Call counts are for B/SDRs.

How did you go from an SDR to an Enterprise rep? That’s like 10+ years of selling in SaaS from SDR - SmB - MidMarket - Enterprise

Realizing now that it’s more of a title. This role feels more like a glorified SDR

Yeah I do my own bookings but the AEs don't have a call count unless they are on a PIP or something.
Shame you weren't told about it before moving roles though, nicer to go in knowing what things will be like for your day to day

Bruh.. I make like 7-8 outbound calls a day total. Phone calls I mean.

Lots of cold emails, follow up email, video calls, etc, but you should barely be outbounding.  By the time you get to enterprise, your job is to close, the company’s job is to feed you leads, you convert.

Bruh, I didn't even make 65 calls when I was a full-time BDR. Wtf are they paying marketing and campaigns for?

prospecting metrics as an Enterprise AE might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard

I make some cold calls to strategic/big bet accounts. BDR handles dials to non-prioritized accounts and/or supports me on strategic accounts.

No cold call count as AE. If you’re on PIP then you do have cold outbound metrics which is pretty standard.

Yeah no call counts for ENT. The fact that you went from SDR to "ENT AE" doesn't surprise me that they have a call count for you though. That's quite the jump.

Huge red flag -- at least offer them airpods.

Micromanagement at the Enterprise level is concerning. Tells me the management team probably has very little experience selling into that market.

AEs.. How long did it take you in your previous position (BDR, AM, etc.) to get to a closing role?
