I don't have a degree around sales and I'm in sales. You have to learn how to talk to people and sell yourself. TONS of tips on interviewing here. Use the search bar

Go get a technical degree from the best college you can get into. Don’t get a business or similar degree.

Based on the job descriptions I see they have a Bachelors as a requirement but I am sure there are some out there that don’t

Great to see your interest in tech sales, it is a uniquely rewarding space!

It is possible to land a white collar job without a college degree, though it does make it harder. Unfortunately (in the West at least), college degrees have become commoditized and are almost a 'must have' as a checkbox. However, it doesn't mean you can't succeed without one, in your career you will have to let your work ethic and brand carry you through. Know though that many jobs ask for either a degree or relevant experience, so you may find getting in the door harder.

Assuming that you want to take a shot right now as a HS grad looking for a role. My straight talk to you: While your lack of experience will work against you compared to other AE's, in the current macro environment, the fact that you are a cheaper resource helps a lot. This is not a bad thing! As companies watch expenditures and cut OpEx, the loaded cost of their sellers is a big thing.

However, whatever the price, you HAVE to demonstrate and articulate that you know how to sell, even if you haven't done it professionally before (every person on earth has 'sold' something, because every human interaction is a transaction). So, a few off-the-cuff recommendations I would have for you are:

-As others have said, read up in the Academy, go look at some resources, but also don't overwhelm yourself and try to recite everything. Just get some basics down, including processes like BANT, which will go a long way to showing the hiring manager that you at least know the concepts.

-If I was interviewing you, the thing I would look for most (knowing you have no experience) is confidence. When I'm talking to you, are you confident (but not arrogant) that you can succeed? Are you confident in your ability to learn? Be humble about it, but also know that you are an individual who (assuming you are the type to actually apply yourself to your work) can bring value to the team.

-You might also consider community college (assuming you don't want to do a 4 year), as they do offer courses that can help you burnish your background a bit and be more relevant in the space.

Best of luck to you!

Degree looks good on a resume, but is not needed to do the job. Some companies may not talk to you if you don't have a degree, but others will. Good luck!

A college degree helps get you in the door to your first job. That being said a degree is becoming less and less meaningful in todays world. If you are good at networking, I would start there. Once you have experience in a sales position and have been successful. People rarely care if you have a degree. Your potential manager is looking for results.
