Ethnical Sales or Green Washing? Where do you sit? Do you care?

A: I know the planet is important but that anti-travel, recycling, turn the heating off ramble kinda gets in the way of nailing sales dude

B: I know the planet is important and actually I'll sell more if peeps think I care about it

C: I don't think the planet is important, there are lots of other ones we can visit soon, take over, destroy, leave, start again

Is this about 1 person avoiding travel to save the environment? That plane is going with or without me on its route...... so unless you are a 143 person church group taking all the seats on that 737-700 its a non-factor.

Agreed! I am all for doing things to help the environment but I'm not going to opt to be Greta Thunberg crossing the ocean by ship when there is a flight heading that way with or without me. This is pessimistic to say, but from a economics standpoint the sheer number of that "1 person" needed to decrease the demand of air travel just would never happen. With the exception of the 2009 recession and 2020 "covid year" air travel is still growing YOY (and already up 3.9% this year).

Sorry I know I sidetracked this, I would say I am an "A"....However, I don't think their is any correlation between A/B getting in the way of sales, or helping you sell more. (And yes I know you were shooting more for "awareness" with this post)

Indeed, my Wealth Mgmt clients have significant exposure to "financed emissions", Bjorn makes some great points but his book title misleads the casual reader

Yes, shell games represent a significant moral and financial hazard. I agree with you re: the title. I always just tell my more enviro-minded friends "trust me, at least read the first chapter before you judge the book by its cover."

So I do think our planet is important, but I also use this in sales pitches. It's a good look to be green. Any time I can tie that in for the c suite, I do. Look how ethical and environmentally friendly your company can be with my help 🎉
