Everything going downhill for me...

Sigh just wanting to vent really.

Apparently I'm not doing as good as I thought I would be. Even though I feel comfortable my manager isn't so they are on calls with me as well.

I feel like I need to be perfect for my manager to let me run calls myself.... Am I not allowed to make mistakes and learn from them?

I also don't know who's on my side anymore even with my colleague, can't even joke with them. No idea what they are saying behind my back.

My hands are tied and I'm left with having to look for a new company which sucks but I have no choice.

I know I'm being vague but didn't want to go in to too much details just in case.

Thank you for reading

Getting micro-managed is super annoying, and if it's pushing you out the door, so be it.

On the topic of colleagues talking behind your back, you can only control what you can control. Obsessing or worrying about what others think can be a huge hindrance and is a waste of mental energy. If you're bringing your genuine self to the table, and folks don't like it,๐Ÿคท

Excellent answer. The big red flag is the micromanagement. If that is hindering your performance, then that's a problem.

Coworkers - the only thing to remember is that emails can be forwarded, Teams/Slack chats can be cut and pasted and forwarded, not to mention your company has access to your electronic communications if they want anyway. Keep gossip and anything suspect out of any internal communications so that you're not in trouble if someone sees something inappropriate.

Donโ€™t you think that the right choice vis-a-vis getting pressed and micromanaged. Things happen for good and for a reason. Wish you luck and good vibes.

It's important to remember that everyone makes mistakes, and that it's a natural part of the learning process. It's also important to have a supportive work environment where you feel like you can learn and grow without fear of being judged or criticized.

Really sorry to hear this

Any time you're getting micro-managed like that, it's time to find a new gig. The next step is PIP or fired.

I had a micromanager once. It was awful. I learned a lot though. So you just tell them EVERYTHING. You ask about EVERYTHING. You tell them what you're doing and what you're struggling with and they'll be invested and eventually let you be because it's too taxing on them... Or you can leave the company. Colleagues, start being super helpful to any new people and sharing useful webinars and links in the chat

From what you said I donโ€™t know if the root problem is you, your manager, or the company. But whatโ€™s apparent to me is that you donโ€™t mesh well with that companyโ€™s culture.

I highly suggest you sharpen the resume and start looking for your next gig since itโ€™s probably just a matter of time before that becomes an involuntary activity.

You just had an awesome proposal call, but everyone is going back to their busy lives. What do you do to keep that momentum alive, especially over a long sales-cycle?

Do you work remotely or at the office? Would you quit your job if you had to go to the office full time? Iโ€™d quit immediately. Well as soon as I found another job ๐Ÿ˜‚. Currently, Iโ€™m working from home I go to the office once in a while. I can work from any country. I went to the beach for 3 weeks and just took two days off to recover from a festival.
