And here we are, crunch week for Q3 2022 (if your company follows the calendar year). Wishing all you savages and savagettes a crush week with fat checks to follow. I'm excited to hear the last minute squeezes in this week.
I'm currently funemployed so I'll share a Q3 story from last year.
I was selling IT security to a large paper manufacturer, and their legal had a number of issues with the SLA. After basically begging our own legal team to bend, we were able to send a revised contract at 4:30 PM. I'm biting my nails now waiting on a text/call back from my champion. Finally at 5:30 he calls from his car, apparently on the way home from a grocery run. He starts with "My CEO is out of town on vacation and wont be back till next week, so he can't sign off".
My heart sinks, and while I feel like closing off the convo (long day, end of Q and all that), I've built good rapport with this guy, so I entertain the rest of the conversation with his kids in the car lol. Right as we're about to hop off he says "oh yeah, so I couldnt get my CEO to sign off but my CFO was around so that contract should be in your inbox. congrats" ---> $300K just like that
What a rollercoaster ๐ anyway would love to hear any wild stories you have. Good luck all!
