Exercise Gear For The Home Office

Last month, I moved my Concept 2 rower from my garage into my office...like literally right next to my desk. For some reason I couldn't bring myself to walk 30 feet to the garage during lunch or whenever to get some exercise. I've also added an ab mat and a pair of 25lb dumbbells. I find that I am more likely to intermittently hop out of my chair and do a set of something in between calls, or even on calls where I don't need to be on video or won't be saying anything; just listening.

So to my question: What have people similarly found success doing when it comes to exercise gear or routines ACTUALLY IN your home office (actual office, bedroom, whatever).

If it's a piece of gear, an included Amazon link would be fantastic. Trying to roll into 40 in the best shape of my life...not feeling like I'm at death's doorstep. ๐Ÿฅด

Peloton, resistance bands, Pull Up Bar, and the adjustable dumbbells from BowFlex. That got me through quarantine, but I am definitely someone who prefers to work out in a gym. If I had a massive garage, that would probably change

All great ideas...I think the resistance bands will be an add soon. Stuff that I can put under a desk or into a drawer are ideal for space savers.ย

Full band set, perfect pushup things, a chair, and a pull up bar. You can literally hit everything with those (perfect pushups are optional, my wrists were fried after a few months of pushups).

I have a full workout plan mapped out I can send you if they ever open up DMs on here lol.

The overlooked part is cardio - literally just do like 20-30 minutes a day (I just go on walks, don't have to do anything crazy).

I lost about 5 lbs over quarantine

Good for you..congrats! Yea, if I'm needing to do cardio, that's when I'll jump on the rower and do a medium-paced 5k row. Low impact, full body...and stationary, so I can still listen into a call with Marketing. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Foam rollers are the best invention. Try using a baseball or a Lax ball as well.ย

Kettlebells are the greatest tool in the gym. You can squat. Press. Curl. Extend. Counterweight. Do ab work. Everything with one piece of equipment.

Youโ€™re absolutely right! Great recommendationโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll just have to watch the clearance on a fully extended swing. Otherwise that will be one heck of a drywall repair!

Honestly the Nike Run Club app has done wonders for my life and it's free, but highly recommend trying the guided runs if you don't like running. The coaching is so awesome

Bowflex combo dumbbells. Take up minimal space and go from light to heavy. Yoga for stretching, or laying down after a deal falls though. How you use that is up to you :-)ย

Oh...and if a deal falls through my โ€œyogaโ€ is taking place at my bar, not in my office. Just saying.ย

Did the reverse and moved my elliptical to the newly renovated garage turned gym, and now hit it less than when it was 5 feet away. I hate myself lol

Burn Towns, Get Money
So, I may be out of the norm here, but I have a full Rogue 6-post squat rack on a 12' x 8' platform in the room next to my office. Multiple barbells, over 500lbs in iron, resistance bands, bench, accessories, etc... Essentially a private strength training gym.

I have dogs to walk / run for cardio.

Nothing primes you for the day like squatting a few plates while listening to Lamb of God and tweaking on your PWO of choice.

I run a 5-day split on my lifts so that I get to all the major compounds at least 2x week, and the ones I'm trying to level up harder get hit 3x week.

Not for everyone, but damn is it an effective way to feel like you're on top of the world every workday.

Rinse and repeat for 2 quarters and you'll be pleased with the results.

@MMMGoodย research Mark Rippetoe, Pavel, John Sullivan to get started if you're interested.ย

No better time to start the gains than today!

Peloton, peloton app, and a yoga mat is all I need but then again, my dream of being a bodybuilder died a long time ago when I got a desk job...ย
