F500 Tried and true and ABM

Hey fam,

It's looking more and more likely that I'll be moving to a role selling exclusively to the Fortune 500 with a heavy ABM approach. I've closed/worked in this space in the past but it's never been a dedicated focus and the companies I worked at weren't sophisticated enough for ABM.

For those of you that have closed in this space and for those of you that nailed ABM closes, what worked? And what should I avoid like the fucking plague.

Thanks all!

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
Currently at a start-up that is trying to lean hard into ABM.

My thoughts so far are that you live or die by the strength of the ABM team. Currently at mine, I'm dying more than thriving.

IMO it's tough to do this at a start up with no brand recognition, you'll make more money doing a spray and pray.

Not my hill to die on at this point in time. Making background moves to save the ship

That's what I would do, perform my own cold outreach.

It's a double edged sword. You get stuff other people don't get, but you have to do additional work.   I've learned is that it has to be personalized and tailored to the client - it can't sound like generic marketing fluff. That being said, it helps me broaden my message to a larger audience, and warm prospects - hasn't driven a lead or closed a deal yet.

Pretty difficult initially. Marketing effort is also needed heavily for brand awareness.

What does ABM have to do with selling? I’m confused?

The market (it's happening in several continents) is using ABM along a six month course to generate leads for Outbound Sales Reps.
