This one was fun. Our company makes our money on transactions put into our software. This deal was run through one of my existing clients who was trying to sell to a prospect of their own and leveraged our software as a tool. All I had to do was demo the software and present myself as a SME, which is hilarious b/c to call me an expert on anything but straight bullshit is a stretch. It got shaky after too many of the prospect's chefs were in the kitchen but eventually and awesomely they decided to reduce the number of voices and the discussion went my way pretty rapidly after that. Seems they had some internal urgency which is always a beautiful thing.
It was an interesting process considering I wasn't holding the reins. Hopefully this sets a great precedent with my customers bringing in more sales while me doing minimum work. Whole deal took about 4 months - most of the time was the prospect looking at other options per corporate guidelines, but we were promised the last word and felt good about it from the onset.
Well, I'm off to implementation...there are many times I wish I was still an AE v AM so this next part wasn't my problem but hell, I like pain - I'm a Cleveland fan for fuck's sake. lol.
