Finally out of the SDR Grind!

Hey everyone,


I'm posting because I've accepted an offer to finally get into a closing role. I owe a lot of my success to the great posters that are (& were) here.

Congratulations! Actually, details of how you managed to do this would be interesting. Internal promotion, or did you hustle up some applications outside?

Thank you! This was an external application. One thing that helped me stand out from the other applicants was asking very thoughtful questions that proved I was actively listening to them. I was often hearing the hiring manager/executives I met with verbally say that's a great question multiple times throughout the interview.

For example,

You mentioned cross selling and this role having a focus on net new sales. I'm seeing that the two most recent acquisitions from <XYZ company> were <acquisition 1 from 20xx and <acquisition 2> from 20xx. Since we're around the year mark of these two product additions, how much success has the team seen from trying to sell these offerings to current customers?
