Fire drills

Boss sent out an email at 5:30 this morning requesting, with high urgency, we get 20 contacts tagged in SF for meetings set this week before our 8 am video call. Um excuse me sir but you are interrupting my coffee/stare into space time. I love this time. I need this time to mentally prepare for the weird shit that's gonna be thrown at me all day. Looks like we are starting early ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Iโ€™ve never heard of a fire drill like this. My boss will ping me to do shit at weird times but you can kind of just yes him and get it done in normal hours

It's so bad I bring this up every month on our one and ones. I see they are helping ๐Ÿ˜†

This is a red flag for me. Sounds like he was told he needed to get something done last week, forgot, and then remembered right before this meeting... not a reasonable request.ย

It feels like a reoccurring event ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Usually, I'm the fire drill blowing up my manager for approvals at weird times or weekends, ha.ย

Ok we've all been there for sure, but it's not the norm ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

What prevented people from getting this done earlier in the week / last week? ย This makes little sense to me.
