Seriously. And when the degenerates around here feel this way, you know it's real.

Sorry that you feel that way. I put some clarity behind the post in my reply to @poweredbycaffeine

This post has nothing to do with the current fires. It was me asking what the future of Fire Protection looks like. Is there a Good outlook for growth or an excellent outlook, or has the industry been saturated? I'm at a point where I'm looking for ideas for a career change since the industry that I was in has collapsed on itself after me being in it for 20 years.

Looks like a case of no context and VERY poor timing.

Thanks for the explanation.

The industry, from what I have seen, is consolidating. Encore, Ecolab, etc, are buying up regional players. That said, they are protected roles since you canโ€™t run a damn company without being complaint and to code in America.

Fire protection wonโ€™t save these houses from wild fires. This is a land management issue first.

Eh. Nothing stops blowtorch wind - all the land management in the world won't help that.
That said, our whole neighborhood has been diligently clearing out old growth and it's looking significantly better. But it won't stop 80 mile an hour embers.

Yes in these circumstances nothing is going to stop the fires until the winds subside.

What even started the fires? Lightning?

To early to know cause on most. There has been one alleged arsonist arrested for the fire that started in the west hills yesterday (the Kenneth Fire), but the rest are unknown as of now. I donโ€™t believe lightning was a factor, but Iโ€™m sure things will come out over time.

I would usually say that I hope this all blows over soon, but blowing is actually the issue.

Theyโ€™re bracing for more winds later today. Friends of mine are deployed down there. I hope it doesnโ€™t get uglier than it already is.

Hey!
Welcome to the War Room, this is Gasty, the Community Manager here.

Wanted to highlight a few points before I get to your post;

War Room is a Sales community platform with some of the best Sales people anyone has to offer. Their advice is pure gold.

We frequently post fun Fridayโ€™s, leaderboards, whoโ€™s hiring, and more.

This isnโ€™t LinkedIn so you can go as detailed as you want. Just focus on providing value.

This is an anonymous platform, so youโ€™ll get the most by going anon.

Lastly, have you checked out the commission store yet? If not, I highly recommend. Earning commission points is also very simple, just engage and post more. Upvotes get you points.

Now to come to your post;

I think some more context is needed. Why donโ€™t you check out a few more posts to see how the ball rolls here.

Welcome again :)

I'm in the Workplace Safety Space - happy to have the conversation. Could pose the question on the SafetyKnights Community or the Subreddit r/safetyprofessionals if you want other viewpoints.

The fire protection industry is experiencing steady growth, driven by increasing safety regulations, urbanization, and technological advancements.
North American Growth: In North America, the market is projected to expand from USD 29.09 billion in 2023 to USD 37.36 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 3.6%.
Fire Protection Materials: The market for fire protection materials is anticipated to reach USD 5.5 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 8.8% from 2024 to 2030.

Although this post was without malice and was intended to envoke the interest and curiosity of the individuals on this platform, the timing is a bit off do to the events that are happening out west.

This platform is filled with individuals that have extensive knowledge and experience as well as passion as you just witnessed first hand in their respected fields.

So if you wish to maximize your experience and gain the most out this platform then for future carefully think of the context that you're releasing and what you want to gain from it and you will have a better response from all on this platform.
Truly I say welcome to the platform. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

In the sense of that styrofoam usage for building homes/structuresโ€ฆ can withstand fire and wind soโ€ฆ kinda exciting to see where it goes
