First Close

Hey guys I just has a new person on my team have their first sale go all the way through. As a team leader I was wondering what we should do to celebrate. What do you guys do when someone has a deal close? I was thinking possibly drinks after work but was wondering what other traditions are.

Congrats! A drink like 30-60 minutes before EOD would be good and avoid any issues in potential exposure to others at a bar/restaurant.

What I don't recommend is what one company I worked for did many years ago.. Have a stuffed monkey on every new hire's chair and remove it after their first close because they 'got the monkey off their back'.

Dumb AF in my opinion.

Agreed. Such a toxic, churn and burn environment. Though admittedly pretty funny, quite messed up.

Congrats buddy, I honestly don't like to spend time after working hours (due to other personal priorities) but if your team members agree, why not raise a glass for cheers!

Would be nice to celebrate just before EOB today with some drinks and snacks if you can swing it.Β  I'm not sure I'd be taking a team out anywhere just yet.Β  I'd be keeping it internal and allowing everyone to leave at the regular time without feeling as though they have to commit to after hours.Β  Β  Those who want to continue the party, of course, can head out after, but keeping it at the office gives those who have somewhere to be a chance to raise a glass to their colleague.
