First Name in subject line of email?

I've been putting prospects or existing customers/partners first names in the subject line of emails I've been sending out and have been seeing more responses. For example: 'Dave- How are you managing xyz?'

Yes it takes a little bit more time since you can't mail merge, but for the past couple of weeks I have been receiving more responses. Looking for feedback on if other sales savages think this is a best practice to keep on doing or if there are any negatives with this tactic.

Thank you,
-Salami

You know, I haven't thought about this. I would say at a quick glance it would grab my attention.

I wonder if Gong has any data on this tactic. They have data on literally everything now lol

Haven't seen gong data on it but Morgan Ingram at JB sales always pushes it.

I see it a lot and kinda find it annoying.

One of my best generic email subject lines is 'First name <> my company' or 'prospect company <> my company'

Recommended by Morgan Ingram at JB sales.

I like the idea. Spam emails get me all the time with this. For some reason, as soon as I see my name, I feel like it's important enough to open the email.

I personally like putting the persons name and feel that it makes the email more personalized rather than another generic email.

Making emails personalized makes the prospect feel more valued and cared about rather than just another junk email they are going to delete. If you find any key evidence about that person be sure to include it.
