First salesperson in B2B SaaS startup

If you'd take role of first salesperson in a B2B SaaS startup, where you will deal with CXOs, what would you expect from Marketing team, and how should the MQLs look like??

Man, if I was the first salesperson at a saas company, I wouldn't be thinking about leads at all. You have the entire country (world?) at your fingertips to call. Anything marketing generates is a cherry on top. You currently are the person in charge of every single top prospect your company has. I would be connecting with every c level at your company and asking the review their network to see if they can you in the door.

Short answer: Cold call. Marketing will be extra

okay, @MrMotivation

And, since the founder has made a few sales... How do I define the sales path / process for me?

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Don't rely on marketing for all the reason you know. For me, I'd want to be talking early and often to people expressing interest. Build those relationships ASAP because some of that will take a while to close.

You also need to be dialing just to CYA if nothing else. I think the nice thing about this is that you can test out multiple paths to see what works. Shit, you may have input on pricing as well. I'd recommend having a general outline and adjusting as you need.

personally wouldn't expect much from marketing until you start to scale a bit....but they'll probably try to tap on your shoulder for bullshit marketing follow ups

I was the first SDR at a similar stage company, brought in to help the VP. I was employee #8 and didn't know where to start.

But I will echo MrMotivation's sentiment of "the world is your oyster."
