Spend more time coaching! I wish I would have started coaching and helping the team instead of watching numbers.
My advice for first time sales managers is to always advocate for your team. Speak up. Be on their side and don’t throw anyone under the bus. It goes a long way with your reps seeing you advocate for them.

I would probably ask for more money for sure :) Also, I would not take it as seriously as I did. And I would engage with my mentors way more often.

Great tip on staying close to mentors. No matter what role you are in, keep those mentors close at all times.

Spend more time coaching my more senior reps. Most new managers think to leave your top performers alone and focus on ramping up newer or underperforming reps. You get more productivity and success turning a B+ or A player into an A+ player than you will turning multiple C players into B players.

Humility. More of it. Be afraid that you are wrong and question accordingly.
