So for reference i was a full time SDR, ive been an AE with an assigned SDR and managed an SDR, and been an AE with no SDR.

i think a 70/30 comp split is not a bad idea. But the 30% should be based on qualified meeting kept. not just a bonus based on number of meetings set.

i feel like this has been a good gauge to help motivate SDRs and align with the right outcome.

Ideally commission on appointments set/kept would be paid monthly not quarterly. since its not going to be a MASSIVE number, i would want my SDRs to feel the impact of the commission quickly.

I would also work in that they get a small kickback when a deal they source closes. but i would NOT include this in the OTE calculation since its so out of their control.

TLDR:
70/30 split
30% = qualified meetings kept paid monthly.
Extra: kick back on closed deals they source

Because BDR’s tend to be pretty junior, usually it is helpful to have that proof of base income when looking at those first big life purchases, so I would venture to say 70/30

If the base is good enough might be worth it. What are we looking at and where are you located?

70/30 for BDR, 50/50 for AE.

For SDR's I'd go 70-30. AE's can be more of a split

What’s the best companies to reach out to for SDR / BDR roles for a career changer looking for solid base comp and decent OTE (financial advisor made 120k last year 3 years hit quota every year cold calling running the sales process so I think I have relevant AE skills but I get taking a step down since I have no SAAS sales skills. (However I have 1.5 years of IT recruiting experience where I also crushed quota and learned a bit about IT broadly) Thanks
