Flair or Process?

When it comes to sales, I was taught that you're either flair or process.

Flair being naturally gifted, able to talk to anybody and basically getting sales based on your personality.

Process being following every step meticulously, not so much a people person but the person that gets the job done and gets results.

Which category would you put yourself in?

I think everybody needs at least a proces. But probably every successful sales person has the mix of both.

Nothing beats process, but if you robotically follow a process without any flair, guile or finesse; then you won't have success.

Doesn't make sense, but does. I don't make the rules

Operational excellence first, Flair second

Once you nail your process, it'll look effortless from the outside.

Process is your map out of the maze.

Flair is how you deal with booby traps on the way out.

Both. All flair and you'll have a successful but short lived career. All process and you might close a few deals but won't be successful enough to stick with it for long. You need a mix of both.

Check out what Scott Adams has to say about systems versus goals. Pretty insightful and relevant to what you're asking

Mix of both so I can keep my ADHD flair in check. 😆

In my world, you’d be surprised how little brokers actually know about what they’re selling.

Start with solid process and then add your flair as you become the most familiar with your product.

Damn that sounds good. Dijon is my favorite on fish, trout or salmon specifically.
