Fool proof method to get people to answer the phone

Ok so I think I've figured out how to ensure someone answers when I call them (cold call/facetime or not).

Right when you dial, just take a big bite of food or a big gulp of *your preferred beverage*.

It seems like a cousin of Murphy's law, but I feel like without fail if I do this then someone picks up and then I'm stuck trying to swallow really quick to not sound like an idiot when talking with them.

Or if you know the call is going to be long and intensive but you need to get them to answer, make the call when you haven't been able to take a piss in five hours and just finished another cup of coffee.

This is the next step to what I do at times just to have a bit of that mojo going my way, I do a bit of what @funcoupons mentioned, listening to music in the background, but my music choice being Every Time I Die and the like, so yeah.
